Future of Redondo Beach-Harbor in the Hands of Measure C

Measure S isn’t the only item on the March 7th ballot that could slow down development in L.A. County. Measure C will also determine the future of Redondo Beach.

A planned Waterfront project would bring stores, restaurants, a movie theater and hotel to the Redondo Beach-Harbor area.

Martin Holmes, President of Rescue Our Waterfront, says he doesn’t want his home to become the next Santa Monica, that’s why he’s voting yes on C.

“Building something off this magnitude, the size of five Wal-Marts. I mean, you can revitalize the area without going to that extreme.”

City treasurer Steve Diels however says the claims of double the development and double the traffic are grossly exaggerated.

“They’re claiming it’s a big mall by the sea. We don’t understand how they’re coming up wit that characterization other than it kind makes a nice soundbite.”

Measure C would restrict and add more regulations for future projects.
