The councilman trying to keep senior citizens from being evicted from their apartment complex in Westwood now has all the resources of the city.

Council members unanimously approved a motion to help their colleague Paul Koretz look for a real solution to a problem that’s affecting over 150 senior citizens.

“We did a motion to ask all of our relevant city departments to look at what the different angles are to try and prevent this from happening.”

Watermark Retirement Communities sent an eviction letter to residents, saying they must leave by April 27th.

Koretz believes they are breaking a state law in order to evict tenants with the goal of signing new ones who would pay more for rent.
