Bill Prohibiting NDAs For Lawmakers Advances

A bill to block non-disclosure agreements in the government is moving forward in legislature.  Its goal is to update California’s Political Reform Act of 1974 to prohibit lawmakers from signing or asking others to enter NDAs.  An exception can be made for NDAs used to shield information for private businesses.  The bills text states a violation of the act is punishable as a misdemeanor.
