A critical deadline for property owners whose homes burned in the January wildfires has been extended.   L.A. County Supervisor Kathryne Barger says the deadline to submit “Right of Entry” forms for debris removal is now April 15th. She says, however, she is hesitant to make that announcement because so many have been slow to get the forms into the county.

She reminds residents that all other deadlines, including applying for FEMA assistance, small business and unemployment claims, are Monday, March 31st. Barger says she will not tolerate any government employee who makes it difficult for property owners to get permits for clean-up or rebuilding, and she’s asking the state Department of Insurance to make how insurance companies operate more consistent.
