San Francisco Will Confirm the City’s Status as Sanctuary City

The city of San Francisco is aiming to reassure migrants that it won’t help federal agents targeting them at home, work, or school.
On Tuesday, city leaders confirmed San Francisco’s status as a sanctuary city. Community and labor leaders stood alongside San Francisco Mayor Daniel Lurie, City Attorney David Chiu
“The San Francisco Police Department does not assist in immigration raids,” SFPD Chief Bill Scott said.
Other cities in California decided to go the opposite way, Huntington Beach, became a non-sanctuary city last week, shortly after President Trump’s inauguration.
