San Francisco Mayor Daniel Lurie wants to address the city’s fentanyl crisis. On Wednesday, Lurie introduced his first piece of legislation since recently taking office. The ordinance would allow the mayor to solicit donations from the private sector to tackle the issues of homelessness and fentanyl overdoses in San Francisco. Lurie says his ordinance cuts a lot of red tape and allows the mayor to move quickly to help those who might lean toward fentanyl use like the homeless and those with mental health issues.
