Firefighters are still battling two massive blazes burning in the Los Angeles area. Winds in the region are easing up today, giving crews a chance to make more progress. The Palisades Fire, near the coast, and the Eaton fire, in and around Altadena and Pasadena, have left thousands of homes and businesses destroyed.
At least 25 people have been confirmed dead from the fires, which have been burning for more than a week. More than 200 thousand people have fled their homes and more than 80 thousand people are still under evacuation orders today. As of the last update from California fire officials, the Palisades fire is 21 percent contained while the Eaton fire is at 55 percent.
