Several new laws will impact California drivers. Starting January 1st, minimum insurance coverage will rise to 30-thousand dollars for one person injured or killed, 60-thousand dollars for multiple people, and 15 thousand for property damage.
In 2025, job listings cannot require a driver’s license unless driving is part of the job. Employers are not even allowed to ask for one unless the job requires one. A law addressing auto burglaries now makes it easier for prosecutors, as they don’t have to prove car doors were locked. Additionally, parking is now prohibited within 20 feet of any crosswalk, even without red curbs.
