President-elect Trump is tapping Paul Atkins to lead the Securities and Exchange Commission and Gail Slater to lead the Justice Department’s antitrust division. Atkins served as co-chair of a crypto advocacy group since 2017. Trump wrote on Truth Social “Paul is a proven leader for common sense regulations.”
Slater, picked to be an Assistant Attorney General, is a former Fox Corporation executive and was an economic policy adviser in Trump’s first administration. Trump said he expects she’ll have a hand in the DOJ prosecuting big tech companies for allegedly abusing competition.
