A veteran San Jose police officer is being named Salinas’ new police chief. Carlos Acosta has served with the San Jose Police Department for 27 years and achieved the rank of captain.
Acosta succeeds Roberto Filice, who resigned in January after two years at the position. Salinas has had two acting police chiefs prior to Acosta’s arrival.
John Murray was named acting police chief but resigned from the position in September. Since then Commander Danny Warner has been serving as chief.
