Governor Gavin Newsom is proposing more than double the tax credit offered to Hollywood production companies to film movies and TV shows in California. Gene Maddaus is the Senior Media Reporter at Variety and says that if the plan passes, it would be a big shot in the arm for the industry. Newsom unveiled the proposal on Sunday, along with Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass. If approved by the state legislature, California’s annual film and TV tax credit would grow from 330-million to 750-million-dollars.
