Sixteen vehicles suspected of participating in a chaotic sideshow on the Bay Bridge in September were seized this week, according to California Highway Patrol (CHP) officials. The seizures followed a month-long investigation into a sideshow that took place on Sept. 8, around 3 a.m., blocking all westbound lanes. CHP officers struggled to reach the group due to the blockage, but the sideshow eventually dispersed into San Francisco after nearly 30 minutes.

Another sideshow occurred at 4:30 a.m., this time blocking eastbound lanes before the group moved into Oakland.

CHP investigators used video evidence and automated license plate reader data to identify 23 vehicles involved in the sideshow, submitting the list to a San Francisco County Judge. Of the 23, 16 vehicles were seized Wednesday. Authorities are still searching for the remaining vehicles. CHP emphasized that they will continue leveraging technology to hold those responsible accountable.
