The California Earthquake Authority is set to increase its rates by an average of six-point-eight percent starting next year.  This hike is reportedly due to rising construction costs, which have been climbing since 2020.  Homeowners can still find earthquake insurance from various carriers and have the option to shop around or adjust their deductibles to manage costs. Additionally, discounts are available for retrofitting older homes and mobile homes with earthquake-resistant features.
