In a heartwarming turn of events, a six-year-old boy who was kidnapped from Northern California in 1951 has been found more than 70 years later. Luis Armando Albino was kidnapped from an Oakland park. He is now a retired grandfather and Vietnam veteran. Thanks to the determined efforts of his 63-year-old niece, Alida Alequin, he was reunited with his family in June.
Alida used an online DNA test, old newspaper records, and family photos to track down her long-lost uncle on the East Coast. Albino was taken by his kidnapper to the East Coast and raised by another couple there. Although Oakland police have closed the missing persons case, the FBI and local authorities have kept the kidnapping investigation open.
