Former President Trump is pleading not guilty to charges from a new indictment in his federal January 6th election interference case.  His lawyers entered the plea on his behalf as did not attend the hearing.

The new indictment from special counsel Jack Smith came after the Supreme Court’s ruling that granted Trump immunity from prosecution for official acts taken while president.  It narrows the allegations, removing some allegations involving government officials.  The case is not expected to go to trial before November’s election.
