Federal prosecutors are rejecting Hunter Biden’s plea in his federal tax trial in Los Angeles. Before jury selection began today, Biden’s lawyer offered an “Alford” plea, where Biden maintains his innocence but accepts that the evidence would probably result in a guilty verdict. It’s not clear yet why the Department of Justice rejected the plea. The President’s son is accused of failing to pay more than a million dollars in federal taxes between 2016 and 2019.
