DOD To Help Secret Service Provide Security During Presidential Campaigns

The Department of Defense says it will help beef up security during this year’s presidential campaigns. 

The DOD said in a news release Thursday that it has approved a request by the Department of Homeland Security to provide assistance to the Secret Service for the presidential and vice-presidential nominees through Inauguration Day. 

A Pentagon spokesperson says the Secretary of Defense has directed the head of the U.S. Northern Command to provide increased support at various locations across the U.S.
