A video of a liquor store employee pulling a gun on a large group of people in Oakland on Saturday has sparked concerns about rising crime. Robert, the store employee, claims the group tried to loot the store at International Boulevard and Fruitvale Avenue and assaulted him.

Robert says he didn’t intend to harm anyone even after the group repeatedly attacked him and pulled out knives. He says when the group started to disperse, he was punched in the face again and heard gunshots in the air. The group was made up of mostly kids and teens on bicycles. Robert says he believes the group is part of an organized bicycle event with people from other cities and organizers should be held accountable.

Oakland police are investigating the gunfire.
