Vice President Kamala Harris has picked Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate. In an email to supporters, Harris reportedly told Walz the news during a video call Tuesday. The 60-year-old Democrat served in the House for 12 years before he was elected governor of The North Star State in 2018 and re-elected in 2022.
A new poll shows 71-percent of Americans have never heard Vice President Harris’s running mate, Tim Walz. An NPR/PBS News/Marist National Poll found that nearly three-quarters of Americans said they don’t know enough about the Minnesota governor to have an opinion on him. Of those remaining, 17-percent had a positive opinion and 12-percent had an unfavorable opinion.
