Officials from the Secret Service and FBI faced a grilling on Capitol Hill over the assassination attempt against former President Trump.
While testifying before a pair of Senate committees, acting Secret Service Director Ronald Rowe called the shooting a “failure on multiple levels.” He added that the agency has rolled out new procedures to prevent future security lapses, including the use of drones and a new vetting process for security plans.
Senator Lindsey Graham told officials that somebody has to be fired following the shooting. Former Secret Service Kimberly Cheatle stepped down last week following bipartisan calls for her resignation.
