Supporters of the California Forever project are ending their effort to get their cause on the November ballot. Voters would have decided on whether a new city that could hold up to 400 thousand people should be built in Solano County.
The measure would have allowed for urban development on land that is currently zoned for agriculture. Supporters of California Forever, which is backed by Silicon Valley billionaires, are now planning to get the measure on the 2026 ballot.
California Forever organizers will instead spend the next two years working with the county on an environmental impact report and a development agreement.
