Former Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa is running for California Governor again.
The 71-year-old political consultant, who, before his political career, was known as Tony Villar, ran for Governor in 2018 but finished third in the Primary.
Villaraigosa joins a crowded field of candidates that includes Lieutenant Governor Elani Kounalakis, Senator Toni Atkins, State Superintendent Tony Thurmond, and former State Controller Betty Yee.
Governor Gavin Newsom terms out in 2026.
