Work is underway to replace BART fare gates at the Civic Center station in San Francisco. Crews are doing each set one at a time, starting with the gates closest to the Seventh Street entrance. Those are closed for construction, the other two remain open. A new six-foot-tall gate was already installed at the station’s elevator entrance in April. The goal is to stop riders from jumping over and hopping aboard trains without paying.
