Later this year, people in Los Angeles County will be allowed to sell food directly out of their home kitchens. On Tuesday, the L.A. County Board of Supervisors approved a permitting process that will legalize so-called Microenterprise Home Kitchen Operations.
Starting in November, chefs and sidewalk vendors will be allowed to cook and sell food for the public from their homes, as long as they follow safety regulations. In 2018, California passed a law allowing home cooks to sell their goods to the public but L.A. County did not align itself with the state.
