A woman is behind bars after crashing into the ocean at the end of a police chase near the Venice Fishing Pier.
The woman crashed her SUV into the water early Sunday, shortly after midnight. She was seen swimming away from the crash site, but didn’t get very far. Police threw her a flotation device, then pulled her out of the water with a net.
The SUV has since been towed out of the water. It’s unclear what the woman was initially wanted for.
