While President Biden insisted last night that the state of the union is strong and getting stronger, not everyone was a fan of his State of the Union address.
The president opened his speech warning of the threats to democracy both at home and abroad.
On X, California Republican Representative Kevin Kiley said. “Biden said not since ‘the Civil War have freedom and democracy been under assault here at home as they are today.’ The President has a short memory.”
While he never mentioned his political rival Donald Trump by name, he often referred to “his predecessor,” and accused him of running a campaign of revenge and retribution.
