The showdown is set in California’s race for Senate. Democratic Congressman Adam Schiff will face Republican Steve Garvey in a November runoff.
Garvey is a first-time candidate and former baseball star. He gave a victory speech last night, laying out challenges he wants for the state, such as closing the border.
Schiff’s celebration turned hostile with protestors chanting “ceasefire now” to which he responded “We want to make sure we keep this kind of democracy.”
