The Supreme Court is going to decide whether former President Trump can claim immunity over his election interference charges.

The former president took to Truth Social to thank SCOTUS, saying that “legal scholars” are extremely thankful for the decision.  He added that without immunity, a president will “not be able to function properly.”

In a brief order, SCOTUS said it would hear arguments and issue a ruling.  The case is currently on hold, so no trial can happen.

The hearing will take place the week of April 22, and could take months to resolve.
