Two East Bay Catholic schools are closing and at least one is over safety concerns.
The Oakland Diocese says St. Anthony’s has seen a rise in crime, including human trafficking operations near the campus. Parents received notice two weeks ago and were told other reasons include homelessness, unemployment and lack of affordable housing.
Our Lady of Guadalupe in Fremont will also shut down at the end of the school year but it’s unclear why.
