The Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office is reporting an increase in crimes committed by kids and teens.
The D.A.’s Office says there has been a specific jump in violent crime involving handguns. From 2022 to 2023, there was a 74% increase in gun crimes committed by juveniles.
There was also a 35% increase in armed robberies involving juveniles during that time period.
Recently, a ten-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of shooting another ten-year-old boy to death in Sacramento County. His father is the only person facing charges in connection with the deadly shooting.
