San Diego Congressman Introducing Fentanyl Bill at Federal Level After CA Legislature Rejected It

San Diego Congressman Darrell Issa is asking the House to pass a fentanyl law at the federal level that was rejected by the California legislature.

If passed, the bill, known as Alexandra’s Law, would require convicted fentanyl dealers to sign a sworn statement saying the drug is fatal and if they are caught dealing again and someone dies from an overdose, they could face murder charges.

The Congressman is holding an event in Temecula, the hometown of the girl who died in 2019 as a result of fentanyl poisoning. The California state legislature rejected the law again earlier this year.
