The White House has announced three billion dollars in funding for part of the high-speed rail line between the Los Angeles area and Las Vegas. The funding announced by the Biden Administration will cover around a quarter of the cost of the new high-speed rail line.
The Hill says the money is going to Brightline, the private company building the 12-billion dollar rail connection between Rancho Cucamonga, in San Bernardino County, and the Las Vegas Strip, over the next four years.
The proposal is to try and replace three million car trips per year, with trains going up to 180 miles per hour.
