Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass says L.A.’s Metro system continues to see dozens of deaths. In an address, she says nearly 50 people have died on Metro buses and trains so far this year. She spoke at Monday’s state of the agency address at Union Station. Bass is the new chair of Metro’s board of directors. The mayor says homelessness continues to be her top issue. Bass is not the only local politician admitting Metro is a mess. Recently, several members of the L.A. County Board of Supervisors concluded that the Metro is not safe to ride.
