Bad News For Homeowners: State Farm Pulls Out Of California.

(San Diego, CA) — State Farm says it will no longer insure property sales in California. They blame it on increased wildfire risks and the explosive expense in construction. Bottom line, State Farm says it’s just to expensive to operate in the state. The agency stopped accepting applications this past weekend. They’ll continue to insure existing customers, and this doesn’t affect customers who have auto insurance. California wildlife officials say they’ve seen an average of more than seven-thousand wildfires each year. That has blackened an average of more than two-million acres over the past five years. State Farm says that’s a burden too much to bear.
