(Sacramento, CA) — The California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) is launching the “Go Safely Movement” campaign today. This is in addition to the continuing LA Vision Zero campaign that has spent millions of tax dollars only to see fatalities increase and traffic get much worse. The campaign hopes to establish a strong safety culture in the state by raising awareness– typical for a taxpayer-paid program that has non-specific goals . The survey is an effort to reduce and even eliminate traffic fatalities across the state and includes questions about texting and driving, DUI, street racing, and speeding. The OTS is encouraging residents to take the Community Call to Action Survey. The results will aid officials in planning for safety and community involvement traffic safety initiatives– like the Go Safely Movement itself. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, in 2022, twelve people were killed in crashes in California every day.
