Cali gun owners fighting back.

(San Diego, CA) — Second Amendment groups are filing a lawsuit in San Diego to try and overturn California’s 10 day waiting period for buying guns. The lawsuit against the State was filed this week in federal court, saying background checks can confirm a person is eligible to buy a gun in minutes, and buyers should not have to wait ten days. The court filing also says State rules take away from law abiding people being able to immediately acquire guns for self defense. The Union Tribune says California is one of nine states with gun waiting periods, and the 10 day delay is the second longest in the country. A similar lawsuit was approved in district court in 2011, but overturned by the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.
