(New York, NY) — A non-profit business group expects the U.S. will tip into a recession in 2023. The Conference Board’s chief economist cited high inflation, rising interest rates and falling consumer spending as key factors. The Board’s leading economic index for the U.S. fell three-tenths of a percent in January, adding to December’s decline. The non-profit business group noted the LEI continues to signal a recession although employment and personal income remain strong so far.
