McDonald’s Testing New Strawless Lid

By

(Chicago, IL) — McDonald’s is testing a new strawless lid. The chain has begun testing the lids in some U.S. cities as part of a multi-year effort to make the packaging more environmentally friendly. The lids have a pullback tab to stop the drink from spilling. To drink from the lid, customers have to pull the tab back and put it in a small opening. It’s similar to the Starbucks’ “sippy cup” that the chain has being using over the last three years.
