(Boston, MA) — The orchestrator of the highly publicized college admissions cheating scandal is headed for prison. Rick Singer was sentenced to three-and-a-half years behind bars. He was the mastermind behind the so-called “Varsity Blues” scandal in which he received bribes from wealthy parents to help their kids cheat on exams in order get into top universities. The case resulted in numerous arrests, including the convictions of well-known Hollywood actresses Lori Loughlin and Felicity Huffman. Singer pleaded guilty to multiple crimes including money laundering in 2019.
