(Los Angeles. CA) — The Los Angeles City Council is voting to end local emergencies dealing with COVID-19 and monkeypox. On Wednesday, the council voted 12 to zero to end the COVID emergency at the start of February. City officials say even with COVID cases on the rise, they can now be properly managed. The vote to end the monkeypox state of emergency was a seven to five split. It’s not immediately clear when the monkeypox state of emergency will end.
