Embarrassing, corrupt, far-left LA City Council chaos produces a new council President

While a political scandal continues to fester, the Los Angeles City Council is electing a new president.  Councilman Paul Krekorian was elected by his fellow council members at Tuesday’s meeting.  Councilmen Kevin de León and Gil Cedillo were not at the meeting.  They face angry calls to resign for their roles in the City Hall racism and redistricting scandal.  Former Council President Nury Martinez resigned last week after being caught making racist remarks on a leaked tape.  The council also voted to begin the process of placing a measure on the 2024 ballot or sooner that would create an independent redistricting commission.  That would be for both the city and the L.A. Unified School District.  Also, the council is exploring a possible ballot measure designed to increase the number of council districts in Los Angeles.
