(San Francisco, CA) — A California trust is revealing it has reached a settlement with PG&E regarding two of the state’s most damaging wildfires. Reuters reports the utility will pay 117-million dollars after being taken to court for claims of lax oversight regarding the North Bay and Camp fires. A lawyer for the PG&E Fire Victim Trust says most of the money will go to federal agencies which battled those fires and called the settlement one of the largest of its kind. Both wildfires took place within a thirteen month span between 2017 and 2018. Numerous deaths were reported and hundreds of thousands of acres were burned.
