L.A. County Emergency Evacuation Alert Sent in Error

(Los Angeles, CA) — Officials say an emergency alert telling everyone in Los Angeles County to evacuate was sent in error. L.A. County’s Office of Emergency Management says it’s looking into why the message about a wildfire triggered a massive evacuation order. The Emergency Alert System interrupted regular TV programming Wednesday, saying all of Los Angeles County needed to evacuate due to the Route Fire, which is burning in the northern part of the county. It’s scorched over 52-hundred acres. Eight firefighters have required medical attention while battling the fast-moving blaze.
