Because Everything Is Going So Well In California Newsom Demands Explanation From UCLA Leaving Pac 12

(Sacramento, CA) — Governor Gavin Newsom is demanding that UCLA explain its decision to leave the Pac-12 for the Big Ten. On Wednesday Newsom made an appearance at the UC Board of Regents meeting in San Francisco to discuss the issue. He said that the school must clearly explain to the public how this move will improve the student-athlete experience, and how it will honor its longtime partnership with UC Berkeley. UCLA, along with USC, made the decision to leave the Pac-12 Conference in August of 2024. Pundits believe UC Berkeley will likely take a big hit financially in a Pac-12 conference that will be weakened by big names leaving.
