Rep. Schiff Says Cutting Off Oil Might Not Stop Russia
(Los Angeles, CA) — Congressman Adam Schiff says cutting off Russian oil imports might not be effective to stop President Putin. Appearing on CBS’ Face the Nation, the California Democrat said there is strong bipartisan support to place an embargo on Russian oil imports. However, Schiff noted that while the oil is Russia’s “cash cow,” there’s a possibility President Putin might be able to find somewhere else to sell it in order to keep funding his war on Ukraine. Schiff went on to say that it’s important to make sure the U.S. and NATO allies make sure the impact of an oil embargo is well understood.
