(Mexico) — Avocado prices could soon skyrocket. That’s because the U.S. recently suspended all imports of Mexican avocados. This comes after a U.S. plant safety inspector was threatened. There’s no word on how long the pause will last, but analysts say there’s a good chance Avocado prices will increase as a result. A Rabobank senior fruits and vegetable analyst told CNBC the U.S. gets about 90-percent of its avocados from Mexico during this time of year.
