Garcetti still waiting for confirmation of his Ambassadorship to come through, trying to justify going maskless at Rams game

Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti is defending himself from backlash after he was photographed maskless at the Rams NFC Championship Sunday at SoFi. He spoke Wednesday at a press conference.

“I think we should focus on what’s real. I wore my mask the entire game. And when people ask for a photograph, I hold my breath and I put it here and people can see that. There’s a zero chance of infection from that.”

Garcetti then clarified that he’s not positive there’s a zero percent chance of taking his mask off and holding his breather for a few seconds.

“And if you – if you want to bring medical evidence to me or something, that, well, if you hold your breath with this off you’re really endangering people, I get it. I won’t wear it – I won’t pull it down for two seconds anymore. That’s easy. But to me, it is crystal clear that nobody has been endangered by that and I’m trying to model the good behavior of making sure we wear this the entire game.”
