L.A. Metro Resumes Collecting Fares.

(Los Angeles, CA) — No more free rides. After almost two years, fare collection returns to Los Angeles Metro buses yesterday. Each one-way trip will cost a dollar and 75-cents. All bus rides had been fare-free since March of 2020 because of the pandemic. Riders will also be required to board the bus through the front door again, instead of through the back, which was designed to improve social distancing. Metro is still offering discounted bus programs and fare options for qualified riders.
