(Washington, DC) — The nation’s leading infectious disease expert is telling Americans to cancel their New Year’s Eve parties as COVID-19 cases surge around the country. Doctor Anthony Fauci told CNN he strongly recommends staying away from parties where 30, 40, or 50 people are celebrating because “you do not know the status of their vaccination.” Fauci said if Americans do get together, they should mask up and follow social distancing when possible.
