White House: Biden “Feeling Great” After Being Near Staffer Who Later Tested Positive For COVID
(Washington, DC) — President Biden is “feeling great” after a close encounter with a staffer who later tested positive for COVID. So said White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki during her daily briefing. Psaki said the President is asymptomatic and will continue to receive regular COVID tests. Her comments preceded Biden’s speech on steps he is taking to help curb the growth of the new Omicron virus variant.
Psaki acknowledged that many fully vaccinated people are scared about the spread of Omicron. She said the White House aims to get accurate information about the variant to the public as quickly as possible. The Biden administration is buying half-a-billion home test kits for distribution to those who request them, starting next month. A government website is being set up to handle the requests.
